Kobato

Kobato is a manga that is currently being released by CLAMP. Chapters are released monthly and there is currently three volumes.

Kobato is a girl on a mission. She has to fill a magical bottle with the wounded hearts of people. To do this, she has to go around helping people with the aid of her stuff dog, Ioryogi, who watches over her.

Kobato Hanato - The main protagonist of the series and a mysterious yet kind-hearted girl. She's not allowed to take off her hat in public but that doesn't stop her from trying to help everyone, including people who were mean to her at one point. Kobato's biggest weakness is she's naive and a clumsy, which is often a nuisance to Ioryogi and Fujimoto.

Ioryogi - Ioryogi's current form is that of a blue plushie dog and his real form is currently unknown. Although quick to anger, especially when it involves Kobato, he does care about her. Ioryogi seems to have some connection to Heaven since he's familiar with Usagi-san (the messengers from Heaven in Wish).

Kiyokazu Fujimoto - Fujimoto is an orphan who was raised Sayaka's father. Because of this he works at Sayaka's daycare and takes on all kinds of odd part-time jobs to help pay for the debt that Sayaka's father managed to rack up before his death. Although he originally didn't trust Kobato and was mean to her as a result, he has recently started to warm up to her.

Sayaka Okiura - The owner of daycare where both Fujimoto and Kobato work. The daycare is heavily in debt thanks to her father being tricked and is always in danger of being being closed by debt collectors.

Okiura - Sayaka's ex-husband and a debt collector who is trying to collect the money that her daycare owes.

Ginsei - An old acquaintance of Ioryogi who often gets into fights with him. Ginsei's current form is rabbit-like creature with a patch over one eye.

Chitose Mihara - Kobato's and Fujimoto's landlady, she is also a childhood friend of Sayaka's. She is the mother of twin daughters and it is assume that her husband is Icchan (from Angelic Layer). Alternate versions of Chitose also appear in both Chobits and Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle.

Kobato was original published in 'Monthly Sunday Gene-X' in 2005 and was put on hiatus that same year. In 2006 Kobato returned in the magazine 'Newtype' where it appears monthly.

In English, Kobato appeared in 'NewtypeUSA' but as of February 2008, the magazine ceased to exist and it is currently unknown when/if the series will be continued to be released.
